NDI

NDI PTZ cameras

NDI|HX3 and NDI|HX2 PTZ cameras: video, audio, control, tally and PoE power over one network cable. 4K60 and 1080p60, 12× to 30× zoom.

NDI (Network Device Interface) sends broadcast-quality video, audio, camera control and tally over an ordinary Gigabit network. With PoE, a single network cable also powers the camera, so installations need far less cabling than SDI or HDMI.

VIDIKOM offers NDI|HX3 on flagship 4K60 models such as the Veyra 20S Ultra-U, Veyra 30S Ultra-X and Veyra 30S Ultra-F, and NDI|HX2 across Full HD and 4K30 ranges. Every NDI camera is discovered automatically by vMix, OBS, NDI Studio Monitor, the Talvo Mix 4 and Talvo controllers.

Recommended equipment

How to set it up

  1. Connect each NDI camera to a Gigabit PoE switch such as the Nexel P8 with one Cat6 cable.
  2. Give cameras fixed IP addresses in the same network so software and controllers can find them.
  3. Open the cameras as NDI sources in vMix, OBS or the Talvo Mix 4.
  4. Control pan, tilt, zoom and presets over the network from a Talvo controller or software.

Frequently asked questions

What is an NDI PTZ camera?
An NDI PTZ camera sends its video, audio, control and tally as NDI over a standard network, so it can be placed anywhere the network reaches and appears automatically as a source in NDI-compatible software and hardware.
How much bandwidth does NDI|HX use?
NDI|HX is a compressed, bandwidth-efficient version of NDI designed for Gigabit networks; several 1080p or 4K NDI|HX cameras run comfortably on one Gigabit switch.
Do I need a special network for NDI?
A managed or unmanaged Gigabit switch is enough for most NDI|HX systems. Use PoE ports to power the cameras and keep the video network separate from busy office traffic where possible.
